The challenge

DubDubai is a classifieds marketplace where people list and browse items and services across categories such as cars, properties, jobs, and general classifieds. Marketplace products fail when listing, discovery, and trust cues are unclear—especially when listings must comply with local rules.

Users include casual sellers posting free listings and buyers filtering by emirate, category, and price. The design mandate was to make posting and discovery feel reliable on mobile—the dominant browsing context—while keeping price, place, and category signals obvious in dense listing grids.

Approach and process

Zero Handoff means the same team that framed the UX in Figma stayed with the work through production detail—so Adnan Studios did not lose intent between design and engineering.

  1. 01

    Discovery

Discovery reviewed how UAE users move between free listing, category browsing, and location-aware filters. Public product patterns—multi-category inventory and emirate-aware search—set the constraints for what the UI had to support.

  2. 02

    UX

UX focused on resilient listing creation, category navigation, and filter patterns that stay usable on small screens. Buyers needed to scan grids quickly; sellers needed a clear path from empty form to published listing.

  3. 03

    UI

Visual design kept dense listing grids readable while highlighting price, location, and category signals. Card hierarchy and trust cues were treated as part of the marketplace system, not decoration.

  4. 04

    Engineering

Zero Handoff kept design decisions aligned with what could ship on the live marketplace without a separate handoff layer between Figma and production UI.

  5. 05

    Launch

DubDubai is live at dubdubai.com as a UAE classifieds marketplace spanning cars, property, jobs, and general listings.

Deeper context

Marketplace UX is trust plus density

Classifieds marketplaces compress a lot of intent into small cards: price, place, category, and credibility. DubDubai serves UAE users listing and browsing across categories. Free listings and location-aware browsing set the bar for what good design must support.

The engagement focused on making listing and discovery feel reliable on mobile while keeping dense grids scannable. The live product at dubdubai.com is the visual proof of that work.

Compliance and content guidelines are product surfaces

Marketplaces are not only grids of listings. Terms and content guidelines shape what can be sold and how disputes are framed. Design that ignores policy surfaces creates a false sense of a “clean” app that fails legal and trust requirements. This write-up treats those public policy pages as part of the product landscape alongside trading UI.
