Case study
Anti-Scroll iOS App — Studio Product
Hourcess is Adnan Studios’ own anti-scroll iOS app—designed and built in-house, live on the App Store, with a waitlist and marketing site at hourcess.vercel.app.

Most screen-time tools punish users by blocking apps. Hourcess explores a different job: help people notice scroll patterns and choose an alternative without guilt. That product thesis had to survive as a real iOS app—not a concept deck—including onboarding, reflection moments, and App Store presentation.
As a studio-built product, Adnan owned design and engineering end to end. The challenge was shipping something intentional enough to stand beside productivity apps while staying true to “pause, don’t punish.”
Zero Handoff means the same team that framed the UX in Figma stayed with the work through production detail—so Adnan Studios did not lose intent between design and engineering.
Discovery came from building in public and testing the anti-scroll thesis with early users. Beta recruitment used the waitlist site so feedback arrived from people willing to use the app, not only compliment the idea.
UX centers on moments of choice: notice a pattern, pause, then pick what happens next. Flows avoid hard locks in favor of reflection and alternatives that match what the person actually enjoys.
UI aims for calm productivity aesthetics with clear hierarchy for streaks, patterns, and choices. App Store screenshots were designed as part of the product narrative, not an afterthought marketing deck.
Zero Handoff was literal: the same person designed in Figma and implemented the iOS product in SwiftUI. The waitlist marketing site was also studio-built with Next.js and hosted on Vercel.
Hourcess launched on the App Store under developer Adnan Adil, with a public waitlist and marketing presence at https://hourcess.vercel.app.
Hourcess is Adnan Studios’ own anti-scroll iOS app. Presenting it as a studio-built product is intentional: it shows end-to-end ownership from product thesis to App Store listing and waitlist site. The idea differs from typical blockers—pause and choose an alternative instead of only restricting apps.
Building in public shaped the process. Beta recruitment through the waitlist site invited people who would actually use the app. App Store screenshots became part of the product story, not a disconnected marketing chore.
Hourcess is live on the App Store under developer Adnan Adil (app id 6805960292), and the waitlist/marketing site is live at https://hourcess.vercel.app. The stack is Figma for product UI, SwiftUI for iOS, and Next.js on Vercel for the waitlist site.
That split gives buyers evaluating Adnan Studios a clear mobile product narrative: thesis, design, implementation, and distribution owned by one person.
On client work, Zero Handoff means one studio owns Figma through production. On Hourcess, it means the founder-designer-developer loop is unbroken. Decisions about reflection UX, streak motivation, and App Store presentation were made by the same person who implemented them in SwiftUI. The case study exists to show that loop in public.
